Workshops
As part of the Off-the-Cuff festival a range of Beginner and Advanced workshops will be on offer. All bookings for workshops are to be made via e-mail to contact@impromafia.com.
Impro Workshop for Beginners
The main reason to learn impro is to experience the thrill of entertaining an audience without a script or prerehearsed routine. However, even if you are not interested in performing, then impro is still great fun to learn, and an excellent way to develop self confidence, creative thinking and teamwork skills.
Anyone can get involved in impro - there is no need for drama or comedy experience. The classes are about learning to express yourself spontaneously and honestly on stage - and you don't need to be the world's greatest actor or funniest comedian to do so.
The 6-week beginners course will introduce you to the basics of improvised theatre in a fun and friendly environment.
Classes will look at -
- Environment and physicalization
- Characters
- Storytelling & narrative
- Performance games & formats
Our next round of beginner's sponteneity workshops are:
- Dates: 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th August and 6th and 13th of September.
- Time: Saturday 1-4pm
- Where: Ithaca Hall
- cnr Kennedy & Enoggera Tce
- Red Hill
- Cost: $60 for the entire six week course.
